Dark Night of The Soul by Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse

Danger Mouse
(aka Brian Joseph Burton) and Sparklehorse (aka Mark Linkous)
had their latest work, Dark Night of The Soul, delayed due to legal problems and even though it was released on the internet in May 2009, the album never received a formal release.

Sadly, Mark Linkous passed away in March 2010 but the album is now going to receive the much-awaited and deserved release. Not only did these two musical geniuses construct and manipulate the tracks (which is already brilliant in itself) but they feature collaborations with music icons such as Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), The Flaming Lips, Iggy Pop, Jason Lytle, Black Francis (Pixies) and the late Vic Chesnutt.

The tone of the album is haunting and is said to mirror the desolation of Linkous' life, which ultimately led him to his death.

Dark Night of The Soul was released on July 12, 2010. Check out a track from the album below.
